Divorce Mediation

Divorce Mediation is a cooperative process where a mediator acts as a neutral third party to facilitate an agreement between the spouses.

How it works:

  1. The couple chooses a mediator
  2. The mediator helps the couple identify and understand relevant issues, identify common goals, and negotiate to create a customized agreement.
  3. The mediator drafts a written agreement
  4. The court uses the signed mediation agreement to create the final divorce settlement.

Unlike in a Collaborative Divorce, a mediator does not give legal advice or make decisions for the couple.
